At AccuTemp Refrigeration our service technicians are paid based on their time to complete a job and NOT based on commission.
What does this mean and why is it important?
Salespeople are paid Commission
Generally in the business world a salesperson is paid a commission based on what they sell for the company. This is done to incentivise the salesperson to get out there and sell! It is a good and healthy thing and is a central tenet to capitalism and business in general. The more the salesperson hustles and sells the more money the company makes and consequentially the more they make. As long as they are honest and fair this is a good thing and should be encouraged.
Service Technicians are NOT Salespeople
It seems redundant to say that a service technician is not a salesperson but based on how some air conditioning and refrigeration companies operate in the Valley it is important to mention. When you need a new air conditioner or commercial refrigerator installed or an existing piece of equipment repaired or maintained it is important that the technician working on your equipment is being paid for the time it takes them to finish the job. This is important because you have already paid for the equipment or service being performed. Part of the price of that transaction should be the cost to have the job done competently and completely. If the company is paying their technician for the job then the technician’s focus is going to be on completing that job. During the course of installing, repairing, or maintaining your air conditioner or commercial refrigerator if they see something that may require additional expense on your part you can be assured that they are mentioning it because the system needs it to operate correctly and not because they want to make more money.
Performance is measured in many ways
